Easy Oatmeal Breakfast
I wanted to start eating oatmeal more often for the health benefits. While I love stove top oatmeal, I've found microwaving it is easy and quick. I took it a step further to save time, by preparing many servings of oatmeal at once, to have ready to eat when I need it.
Ingredients & Supplies
1/3 cup quick oats
1/2 teaspoon McCormick cinnamon sugar
4.5 ounce Take and Toss containers by The First Years (www.thefirstyears.com)
2/3 cup milk
First I lay out all of my Take & Toss containers.
In each one I put 1/3 cup of Quaker quick oats
and half a teaspoon of cinnamon sugar
Until I'm ready to eat, that's it! Here they are prepped until I need them.
Now here is why these Take & Toss containers are so great; when I am ready to eat, I empty the prepared oats into a separate microwave safe bowl, and I can use the Take & Toss container as a measuring cup, and pour my milk right up to a line which is just below the rim, which measures out to a perfect amount of milk for my oats.
I then add my milk into the bowl with oats, microwave 1 minute, stir, and microwave another 1 minute.
I find this method quick, and simple, and I eat a lot more oatmeal now that most of the prep work is already done for me!
